Twelve New Astra Games in One Day: I Opened All of Them
The Astra game catalogue grew from 97 entries to 109 in a single day and its own stars went 177 to 203, while the previously top-starred games barely moved. I opened all twelve new entries — eleven load, one does not answer. Seven are hosted on OpenAI’s own chatgpt.site subdomains, only one publishes its prompts, and half the batch recreates a game you already know.
TL;DR — The community catalogue of GPT-6 Astra games went from 97 entries to 109 in a single day, and its own star count went from 177 to 203 while it happened. I opened all twelve new ones: eleven load and render, one does not answer. The twelve are not what the X threads are showing — half of them are recreations of games you already know, and the hosting has quietly consolidated onto OpenAI’s own *.chatgpt.site domains.
Follow-up to the five most-starred Astra games, where I ranked the catalogue because it does not rank itself.
What changed in a day
| 2026-09-14 | 2026-09-16 | |
|---|---|---|
| Games listed | 97 | 109 |
| Catalogue stars | 177 | 203 |
Twelve entries landed in three commits on 2026-09-15 — one batch of ten described as "browser games from cross-platform research", plus Vesper and Thornwake submitted individually.
Meanwhile the previously top-starred projects barely moved: Jelly Baby 152 → 152, Hit & Run 136 → 138, one-shot-games 50 → 51, The Free Game and BLACKWATER unchanged. The heat left the individual games and went to the list.
I opened all twelve
Checked 2026-09-16. "Loads" means the page answered and rendered; I did not finish any of them.
| Game | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Thornwake | Insect action roguelite — needle combat, dash, silk and ember seeds | loads |
| DUST II · Desert Operations | Dust2 recreation with free-for-all, team, bomb and infection modes | loads |
| Vesper: The Last Light | Third-person puzzle adventure, drowned gardens, light management | loads |
| Infinite Garden | 48 gravity-bending gardens, carry fruit to sockets | loads |
| Fruit Ninja Dojo | Unofficial Fruit Ninja recreation, combo chains | loads |
| Nightborn Clash | Four vampire fighters, energy skills | loads |
| The Road to Kufa | Arabian desert, on foot or horseback, oasis towns | loads |
| Hot Wheeler | Toy cars through loops and boost pads | loads |
| Dual Realms | Two heroines, side-scrolling, rooftop double-jumps | loads |
| Last Train to the Sea | Winged tram between five towns above the clouds | loads |
| Pixel Orchard | Twelve seed packets, six pairs, a memory game | loads |
| Land, If You Can | Airliner landing approach under tower instruction | no answer |
11 of 12. One domain did not respond on either attempt. That is a better survival rate than I expected — when I first went looking at this, the Korean community game I had written about was returning 503.
The three worth opening first
Thornwake — the one that looks like a real game

An insect roguelite in the Hollow Knight lineage: needle combat, a dash, root chambers, silk and ember seeds carried across repeated descents. Creator Lehiem / LiamTodd98. Keyboard, free, no login. Of the twelve this is the one with the most game-shaped structure — a run loop with currency rather than a single mechanic demo.
DUST II · Desert Operations — the one with the prompts attached

A Dust2 recreation with four modes — free-for-all, team, bomb, infection — and weapon switching against bots. Creator lin_ye published the original map and prompts on linux.do, which makes it the only one of the twelve you can actually reproduce rather than just admire.
That matters more than it sounds. Across the whole catalogue, published prompts are the exception, and a demo link without a prompt tells you the model can do it but not how you would.
Nightborn Clash — the heaviest screenshot, and it shows

Four vampire fighters with combined attacks and energy skills, practice mode against AI. Worth noting for what it is not: a one-mechanic toy. Character select plus a move system is more scope than most single-prompt output carries.
The rest, briefly

The Road to Kufa is the prettiest of the batch — desert traversal on foot or horseback with landmarks to find, no combat. Hot Wheeler and Last Train to the Sea are both vehicle toys with a physics hook. Dual Realms switches between two characters in a side-scroller. Infinite Garden is the largest in stated scope at 48 puzzle levels. Fruit Ninja Dojo and Pixel Orchard are single-mechanic pieces you understand in five seconds.

Two patterns worth naming
Hosting has consolidated onto OpenAI
Seven of the twelve sit on a *.chatgpt.site subdomain — thornwake-moth-descent.ltodd.chatgpt.site, dust-ii-map.yelin8130.chatgpt.site, and so on. The rest are on Vercel, GitHub Pages, or a platform like Crayon.
That is the practical reason these links still work. When the model that builds the thing also hosts it, the demo does not rot the way a hobbyist deploy does. It is also a lock-in worth noticing: the catalogue’s liveness depends on one company keeping a subdomain service running.
Half the batch is a recreation
Dust2. Fruit Ninja. A Hollow Knight-shaped roguelite. Read against the earlier entries — the Simpsons driving game, a Sonic prototype, an Uma Musume auto-battler — and the pattern is hard to miss. What gets built with one prompt is overwhelmingly a game somebody already remembers, not a new idea. That is its own article, and I will come back to it.
What this list still will not tell you
- It does not rank. No stars, plays, or likes per entry — only 11 of 109 link a source repo at all, which is the only hard number available.
- Attribution is self-reported. The catalogue says so: "Model attribution is based on creator or submitter statements." In the previous round that disclaimer turned out to matter — the second most-starred entry credits Codex and Claude in its own README, not Astra.
- Catalogue updates are not re-tests. Its own note: "this date records catalog maintenance, not a new play-test of every game." The 11/12 above is mine, taken on 2026-09-16, and it will decay.
